Saturday Skills Session: Intro to Cables

Learn the art of cables while creating a cozy little project you’ll actually use! In this hands-on session, you’ll learn the basics of cable knitting—how to read a cable pattern, use a cable needle, and create beautiful twists and texture.

We’ll practice these skills by knitting a snug mug cozy, perfect for gifting or keeping your coffee warm. A great class for adult (18+) knitters ready to build confidence and add classic cable techniques to their toolbox.

We’ll get started on this cup cozy that you can finish on your own!

Skill Requirements:  This is a class for adult (18+) beginner knitters who are comfortable with casting on stitches, knitting and purling in the round, and binding off.

Material Requirements:

-one skein of DK weight wool yarn - we recommend Rowan Felted Tweed
-US 6 knitting needles - straight or circular
-cable hook or needle
-pattern (provided in class)
